olympic photos

There is an outstanding collection of photographs from the 2008 games posted by the German magazine Stern. The slideshow is a chore to click through, so you can load up all 150 photos here. (It is most if not the entire collection).

  1. The most amazing photo sequence is from Sports Illustrated’s Heinz Klutmeier. He captured Phelps victory over Cavic (by .01) in the 100 Butterfly with an underwater camera. Here is a link to the photos and a link to an interview with Klutmeier.

  2. We watched that race and that finish and the television coverage, even in hi def, was too close to be conclusive. IMHO.

  3. Here’s additional analysis of the close finish of this race
